Happy October!!

Hello, my friends! I'm back at it again with another update. October update this time. I know I've been a bit radio-silent for a while besides the bimonthly art posting, but I promise it's not without reason!!

I've been very busy you see, both irl and with my content. I've been making tremendous progress on my personal stuff, but we'll get into that.

So what's been holding me up? Why have I been quiet? You remember those two games that I talked about making in August? Those are still very much happening and I've been making some progress on that with concepts, names, storylines, music, etc.

The First Game

Chromapteran was originally intended to have a demo ready for a Halloween release, but my personal life got in the way, and I couldn't dedicate the necessary time to it. I don't want to reveal too much about the characters and story just yet, but I can share that the game will feature character selection, spoken dialogue, and combat!

I'm well aware of the coding challenges, especially considering it's a flash game, and the significant time investment it requires. Currently, I'm focusing on preparing the assets needed for the game

It takes slight inspiration from Nightmare Cops, though the combat won't be NIGHTMARE COPS level...because well It's only me working on this game right now....and I'm also not veteran Newgrounder levels of good at animation.

I also had a title screen ready, but that is lost in time as well. Oh well, with all work lost comes an opportunity to make it better the second time around.

I want to delve into the details, but explaining the plot seems stupid considering a demo is on the horizon. I anticipate its release in a few months. Unlike 'Doodlepup's Missing Wagon,' which took quite a while due to my initial experimentation with player controls and learning from a more experienced coder, this project should progress faster now that I have a solid understanding of the basics.

In the end, only time will tell. I'm a busy little lady afterall.

The Second Game

Now this game is something I've been wanting to do for forever. I've gone through many many concepts and ideas but I settled on this one because I find it the most interesting.

This one will not be in development for a long while. I wanted this to be a female-protagonist centered FPS game. Given my coding knowledge and my lack thereof, I might just make it a shooter beat-em up. It truly depends on if I can execute combat as well as I think and feedback received from Chromapteran. This one will be fully voiced and more experienced people are to be hired with the making of this game.

as much as I'd love to share the character concepts, I'm not quite ready since I haven't nailed character nor level designs I like yet.

Other Projects;

• I'm working on a few other projects as well. I'm contributing to the Sketch Collab 2023 as well as a few others. Safe to say I have a lot of work to do and have no WIPs to show regarding that. But no matter, since people will see it later when the collabs come out. They're all animation based, and having not practiced animation in a hot minute, I'm excited to be working on those.

• I wanted to make a Halloween cartoon centered around The Beatles, but I decided not to go through with it since the comedic writing ended up being poorly timed and I was at a loss of how to fix it without rewriting the whole script. But I do have other cartoon ideas in mind and in the works!

• I have commissions open, and I work on them intermittently. I also might create unexpected games in between working on my larger projects.

Personal stuff:

On a more personal note, I've been struggling with the need to make illustrations before sharing updates or concepts. This perfectionism has led to my recent radio silence in the art department. But I've also been busy with commissions and I assure you; I've been hard at work behind the scenes.

I also lost like...all of my old stuff and progress. Some were salvaged, but my old laptop caught fire because the battery exploded. (so fucking metal!! ) so I put together a new one from the 17 backup laptops I have to hack into government agency networks and airdrop pictures of Gene Ween to provincial officials.

On a positive note, my efforts in various ventures have been financially rewarding.

While I missed the Newgrounds NJ meet due to unforeseen circumstances, I have my sights set on future meetups. Bills must be paid, after all! And yes, getting a Newgrounds shirt is still on my to-do list... I have a beautiful outfit idea for my very first meetup teehee <3
